What does Office of Analysis, Research and Technology do?

A

provides the transportation industry and the public with analytical reports on trends, costs, fatalities, and injuries in large truck and bus crashes. ART research and data help identify factors that contribute to crashes. FMCSA uses this information to develop effective countermeasures that will reduce the occurrence and severity of crashes.
ART prepares all economic and environmental analyses for FMCSA rulemakings to ensure that changes to motor carrier regulations are based on sound data and analysis.
