Human Papilloma Virus - HPV

A
  1. Recommended at age 11
    - Age 9-14 years at initiation — 2 doses 6 months apart
    - Age 15 or older at initiation — 3 doses at 0, 1-2, and 6 months

**Number of doses dependent on age at initial vaccination

Guardasil 9

  • Only HPV vaccine on the market
  • Covers HPV types 16 and 18 which cause cancers in females, penile and anal cancers in males, and head and neck CA’s in both genders
  • Also covers types 6 &11 which cause genital warts in both genders
  • Most effective before first sexual contact
