A joint stock company is a company that buys stock. And it relates to Jamestown because the Virginia Company is a joint stock company and they funded the Charter to Jamestown

To bring more people to Jamestown. It is when poor people ask rich people to fund their voyage to the new land in exchange for help on the farm for 4-7 years and when they finish their term they would get some of the rich people’s land
