Low Battery Audible warning
- prepare a the spare pad-pak and be prepared to swap it quickly
- 10 shocks remaining
- device should continue to function properly

- swap the pad-pak quickly
- make an entry in the cabin defect log
- if the pad-pak is not changed, the device will continue to analyse the patient’s heart rhythm and advise when to perform CPR, Note: battery does not have sufficient capacity to deliver a shock

CPR
to circulate blood to the brain and other vital organs.
Shock
sudden drop in blood flow through the body
* shock is the body’s response to a sudden drop in blood pressure. At first, the body responds to this life-threatening situation by constricting (narrowing) blood vessels in the extremities (hands and feet). This is called vasoconstriction and it helps conserve blood flow to the vital organs.
Warning signs of heart attack
- Chest pain
- indigestion
- aching jaw
- sore arms
- denial, fear
- pale skin
- nausea, vomiting
- sweating
- shortness of breath
- fatigue
- shock
- unconsciousness
- cardiac arrest
CPR
- hands on center of chest ( adult)
- 1 (very small child) or 2 hands on mid chest
4 mins and 10 mins
brain death begins
brain death is certain
AED only shocks
- Ventricular fibrillation
- pulsseless ventricular tachycardia
