1- Structuralists= society shapes us, we are controlled by institutions, behaviour is deterministic, top-down, macro
2- Action= we shape society through actions and interactions, actions are voluntaristic (free-will, choice, control) , bottom-up, micro

what is the nation state feature?
-institutions that govern and regulate behaviour
-education, legal/CJS, government, healthcare
-creates a national identity
what is the development of capitalism feature?
-created new economic system
-free-enterprise= own as much as you want
-means of production= land, property, machinary
-wealth and assets
-social classes and social class divide
-Industrialisation, Fordism (mass produce goods to be sold for profit)

-source of truth
-factual and empirical evidence
-objective (rid political bias)

increasing interconnectedness of societies into ‘one single global village.’
