What is a moderation effect?
A
It refers to a situation in which the relationship between the predictor and the outcome variables changes as a function of the level of a third variable (the moderator).

What is a moderation analysis similar to?
A
A factorial analysis of variance. However, ANOVA does not work well with one or both of the interacting variables are continuous.

What does the moderation model include?
A
Predictor, moderator and predictor * moderator (interaction term) on the outcome.

A
Y = outcome X = predictor M = moderator (same as mediation).
