When a tissue are damaged by what two mechanisms can healing occurs by?

Fibrous repair and regeneration

What is meant by regeneration?
A
The replacement of dead/damaged cells by cells of the same type (DIFFERENTIATED & FUNCTIONAL) by mitosis or from stem cell asymmetric division . Normal tissue structure is restored.

What is meant by resolution?
A
The complete return of a tissue to how it was before damage.

What is Fibrous repair?
A
The regeneration and fibrosis of a tissue. Happens with permanent tissue types and also when the connective tissue collagen scaffold has been damaged.
Normal structure is lost.
