Acts as a bridge between the medulla oblongata and the cerebrum. Connects nerve messages for voluntary muscle movement, balance and breathing
Medulla oblongata
Connects the brain to the spinal cord and controls functions such as heart rate, breathing, and digestion. It is also the “relay station” for nerve signals that go to and from the brain
