What is your occupation?
I am a Forensic Pathologist
What were you doing on Saturday November 23, 2023?
I was working at the MGH. It was not particularly busy and I had not been swamped with reports recently so I stepped outside the emergency lobby to catch a breath of fresh air.
and what occurred at about 9 am on this day?
I was outside the emergency lobby at around 9:15 that morning. Soon after an ambulance arrived as two individuals on stretchers were brought out the back.
What states were these individuals in as they arrived?
One of them was unconscious while the other was speaking fast. I learned them to be Avery Parker and they kept mumbling about someone named Mackenzie. I was not able to hear most of what they were saying…right after the injured were brought into the hospital.
What happened after the individuals were brought into the hospital?
Another individual ran into the hospital and began speaking with paramedics. I was able to hear them telling the paramedics they ´didn´t mean to do it´ and that they were just ´defending themselves´
What did you do after witnessing this individuals statement´s?
They turned to me and looked quite panicked. They began telling me they were scared and just wanted to protect blake.
What did you do after this conversation?
I gave a description of this individual to the Maripossa Police. They then identified them as Mackenzie Kim.
What were your next actions taken?
I completed a Pathology Report on the deceased from the incident.
Please explain the injuries sustained by the deceased from Professional opinion.
Blake suffered significant bruising on his face, arms, abdomen, back, buttocks and legs. He had a 4 inch gash on the back of their head. His skull was not fractured and he did not sustain any traumatic brain injuries. There were otherwise no recent significant injuries.
What conclusions can you draw from your Pathology Report from your Professional opinion?
Blake died two days after his arrival to the Mariposa General Hospital on November 25th 2023 due to a combination of factors. Subject sustained these injuries due to a domestic incident that occured at the residence of 515 Gurdleden Street Mariposa, Ontario on the morning of November 23rd, 2023. The cause and manner of the subjects death match and follow with my findings.
What is your educational background?
I received my doctorate of medicine (MDCM) from McGill University in 1999. In the same year I received my licentiate of the medicinal council (LMCC) from McGill University.
What are your licensures and certifications?
In 2006 I gained my Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians (RCPSC) as a specialist in General Surgery and again in 2008 as a specialist in Forensic Pathology. In 2008 I participated in the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons program at SickKids.
What work experience do you have?
From 1999 until 2003 I worked in the residency program in the Division of Forensic Pathology at SickKids.
What are some credible appointments do you have?
Since 2008 I’ve instructed at MGH in the department of Forensic Pathology. I lectured at MGH in the department of Forensic Pathology from 2008 - 2013. I was also an assistant professor at MGH in the department of Forensic Pathology from 2013 - 2022.
