My name is Sandy Volsky and I am 18 years old
What is your occupation?
I am a high school dropout. I’ve I dropped out of high school in grade 10 and have not returned since. School didn’t seem like the right path for me.
How do you know David Benning?
I have been going out with David for about two years. I am his girlfriend and live with him.
Where were you on the evening of July 14th and what were you doing?
I was with David Benning at our apartment. We were listening to music on the portable stereo radio. We were also mildly stoned but as it was mild, we still had full control of our movements. David was also drinking a few beers but knowing him well I knew he could handle it.
Where do you live?
I moved in with David in January before the incident. We live in apartment number 405 on 509 industrial street.

Yes this is mine and David’s apartment.
Please describe what happened at 9pm.
At about 9pm, there was a knock on the door. I went to answer and since there isn’t a peephole I opened the door fully and saw willow brogue
What happened after that? How did Willow Brogue react?
After I opened the door willow pushed me out of the way aggressively and stormed into the living room of my apartment. She went over to where David was and called him “a creep. Saying you should pay for what you did to my sister. “ David laughed and replied by calling her a fool and saying “your sisters a druggie” and demanded that willow leave which she did not.
Using the floor plan, can you please describe what willow did after that?
I went to the door and opened them willow pushed me out of the way and stormed into the living room to where David was. There the statements were uttered. Willow then turned around and turned off the radio and picked it up taking it out to the balcony where she gestured to throwing it over the railing.
What were the reactions to willows actions?
David screamed “don’t” and then ran after willow to grab the radio back out on the balcony.
What did willow do then?
At that point Willow pushed David over the railing of the balcony. The radio then fell to the balcony floor and broke.
What was your reaction after seeing this incident happen?
I was in shock and screamed for David I turned towards willow screaming at her that she had killed him. All I could think about was my boyfriend and if he was ok so I ran out of my apartment to where David was on the ground. Soon after the police came and found me and David.
