3 types of crutches
- gutter
- axillary

When are axillary crutches indicated
- short-term assistance
- loss of LL use
- greater balance requirements
When are forearm crutches indicated
- experience clients
- long-term gait assistance
- lower balance requirements
When are gutter crutches indicated
- clients who cannot WB through wrists
- weak muscles/poor grip
- long term gait assistance
