  • Amount of time the person was under observation
  • Distance between witness and person observed
  • Visibility - state of light
  • Obstructions - interreference with observation (something blocking the view?)
  • Known - whether witness had seen person before? And how long?
  • Any reason to Remember the person?
  • Time between observation and police ID procedure/ time of writing down
  • Errors - any significant difference between the description the witness gave to the police and the appearance of the person observed
