What are the common examination findings?
A
Mixed UMN and LMN signs
- Inspection - wasting, fasciculations
- Tone - Increased or reduced
- Reflexes - Increased or reduced. can have upgoing plantars
- Sensation - Normal
- Co-ordination - Normal
- Also bulbar symptoms

A
- To finish the exam i would like to do - Upper/lower limb exam and cranial nerves
- By the bed - History, obs -
- MRI to rule out other causes
- Nerve conduction studies

Muscle weakness and death on nerve conduction studies

A
- Conservative - Education, refer to MND society. MDT approach - Physio and OT, palliative care,
Monitor Respiratory function
- Medical - Riluzole, manage symptoms
