What happens when oil and water is mixed?
The water goes cloudy and if you leave the mixture to stand, the oil separates from the water. The oil is lighter than the water, so the oil floats on top of the water.
What happens when oil paint is added to water?
The paint will float on the water. But If oil paint is mixed with turpentine, it dissolves and forms a solution.
What do we use turpentine for?
To clean oil based paint off paintbrushes.
