Mitosis Flashcards
1
Q
Interphase
A
cell grows, chromosomes synthesize new copies, gets more organelles
2
Q
Prophase
A
chromosomes condense, centrioles move to opposite ends of the cell, nuclear membrane dissolves
3
Q
Metaphase
A
chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell, spindles attach to the centromere of each chromosome
4
Q
Anaphase
A
centromeres spilt, allowing the sister chromatids to separate, chromatids move to the centrioles at opposite ends of the cell
5
Q
Telophase
A
chromosomes disperse, nuclear membranes form around each set of chromosomes; forming daughter nuclei
6
Q
Cytokinesis
A
cell divides the cytoplasm into two parts (cleavage furrow, cell plate)
