What is classified as a Class A Mishap?
An injury or occupational illness resulting in fatality or permanent total disability. The cost of reportable property damage is $2,000,000 or greater.
What is classified as a Class B mishap?
An Injury or occupational illness resulting in permanent partial disability.
The resulting cost of property damage is between $500k and $2mil.
3 or more personnel are hospitalized inpatient.
What is classified as a Class C mishap?
An injury or occupational illness requires treatment by a medical professional and results in (for any time beyond the day or shift which the mishap occurred): Loss of time from work, placement on limited duty, removal from flight status, and/or transfer from any individual to a different job.
What is classified as a Class D mishap?
A work-related injury or illness that requires more than simple first aid, but does not meet the criteria for a Class C mishap.
Non-aviation property damage between $5000 or more but less than $50,000
Aviation property damage less than $50k.
Near misses with a high potential for loss.
