What kind of receptor is HER2 (also known as ERBB2)

A

Tyrosine kinase receptor encoded by EGFR2 gene

  • upregulation influences cell proliferation, migration, & cell survival
  • humanized monoclonal Abs trastuzumab & Pertuzumab FDA approved for use in advanced or recurrent HER2+ endometrial serous (4 month PFS benefit);not recommended for adjuvant tx in early stage disease
  • over expression & amplification found in 20-40% uterine serous
