Q
What kind of receptor is HER2 (also known as ERBB2)
A
Tyrosine kinase receptor encoded by EGFR2 gene
- upregulation influences cell proliferation, migration, & cell survival
- humanized monoclonal Abs trastuzumab & Pertuzumab FDA approved for use in advanced or recurrent HER2+ endometrial serous (4 month PFS benefit);not recommended for adjuvant tx in early stage disease
- over expression & amplification found in 20-40% uterine serous
