How to place a slide
Place thin piece of specimen flat of microscope slide. Eg,onion cell
Add drop of water or drop of stain to help see certain features of the cell more clearly. Use iodine for onion cells
Gently lower under the clips avoiding air bubbles

To view an image on the stage
Objective lens
Magnify ranging from low to high power
Calculate magnification
Multiply eyepiece magnification by the objective lens magnification (eyepiece x10 and objective lens x4 total magnification x40
