Q

What happened at the wedding at Cana?

A

There was a wedding at Cana in Galilee at which Mary, Jesus and his disciples were there. When the wine had been given out Jesus’ mother told him that there was no wine left. Jesus didn’t think it had anything to do with him but Mary told the servants to do whatever he told them to do. Jesus told the servants to fill the ritual washing jars with water. He then told them to take some out and take it to the man in charge of the feast. The water had turned to wine. The man in charge of the feast said to the groom that the wine was the best of the wedding.

This is Jesus’ first ever miracle and it is the first ever time that the disciples believe him to be the Messiah. Jesus also refers to the new world that he will bring.

What are the Miracles at Sea? 1

A

Evening came and Jesus said to his disciples that they should go over to the pther side.
They took the boat over but suddenly a strong wind came up and the waves broke over the boat so that it was nearly swamped.
Jesus was in the stern sleeping and the disciples woke him
He then rebuked the wind and told the waves to be quiet and be still.
Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
Jesus asked his disciples if they still had no faith.
The disciples were confused at who he was as even the wind and waves obeyed him.

What are the Miracles at Sea? 2

A

Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him.
He then wnet up on a mountainside by himself to pray.
When evening came the boat was already a considerable distance from land because the wind and waves were against it.
Jesus then went out to them walking on the lake.
The disciples were terrified and thought it was a ghost.
But Jesus reassured them.
Then Peter said if it was you Lord then tell m to come to you on the water.
Then Jesus told Peter to come to him so Peter did so and walked on the water.
He then saw a wind and was afraid and began to sink as he cried out.
Jesus caught him and told him that he had little faith and asked him why he doubted Jesus.
They then climbed into the boat.

Q

What happened at the feeding of the 5000?

A

Jesus went across Lake Galilee and a large crowd followed him because they had seen his healing miracles.
Jesus went up a hill and sat down with his disciples and saw the large crowd of people coming to see him so he asked Philip where they could get food to feed all of these people but he already knew so he was just testing him.
Phillip said that even to feed everyone with just a little bit it would take more than 200 silver coins to buy enough food.
Andrew then said there is a boy with five loaves of barley bread and two fish but he knew it wouldn’t be enough.
Jesus told them to make the people sit down.
There were about 5000 people.
Jesus took the bread and fish gave thanks to God and distributed it to the people sitting there.
Everyone had as musch as they wanted and at the end they collected everything that was left over and it filled twelve baskets.
People then siad that surely it was the Messiah.
Jesus knew that they were about to seize him and make him King by force so he went off again to the hills by himself.

Q

What happened with the paralysed man?

A

Jesus went back to Capernaum and so many people came to see him that there was no room left. Jesus was preaching the message when four men arrived carrying a paralysed man but that had to lower him through a hole they made in the roof because of the crowd blocking the doorway. Jesus then told him that his sins were forgiven.
Some of the teachers of Law were very angry as they thought this was blasphemy. Jesus then asked them if it was easier to say your sins are forgiven or to say get up and walk. He then said that he will prove that the Son of God has the authority on earth to forgive sins so he told the man to get up. Then the man got up and everyone praised God.

Q

What happend with the Good Samaritan?

A

One day a man was travelling from Jerusalem to Jericho when he was attacked by two robbers who stripped him and left him half dead on the side of the road. Then a priest walked down that road but when he saw him he carried on walking. Then the same thing happened when a Levite walked by. Then a Samaritan walked by and went over to the man and poured oil and wine on his wounds and bandaged them. He then put him on his animak and took him to an inn. He then said to the inkeeper to take care of him and he gave him two silver coins and that when he would come back that way he would pay him whatever else the inkeeper spent on him.

The man who was attacked was a Jew and the people who did not help him were also Jews. However the Samaritan was a person from Samarai who traditionally Jews didn,t get along with but this didn’t stop him from helping the injured man.

Q

What happend in the Parable of the Sower?

A

One day a famrer went out to sow seed on his land.

Some of the seed fell along the path and the birds came and ate it up. Those who hear the message about the Kingdom and understand it but then the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in them.

Some of it fell on the rocky ground where there was little soil and the seeds soon sprouted because the roots had not grown deep enough and the plants soon dried up. Those who recieve the message gladly but it does not sink deep into them and they don’t last long. When hard times come they give up.

Some of the seeds fell among the thorn bushes and weeds which choked the plants. Those who hear the message but the worries about this life and the love for riches choke the message.

Some of the seeds fell in good soil and produced corn, some produced a hundred grains, others sixty, and others thirty. Those who hear the message and understand it.

Q

What happened with the Parable of the Sheep and Goats?

A

God the son will sit on the throne in heavenly glory and separate the people one from another as a sheperd separates the sheep from the goats. The sheep will go on his right and the goats on his left.
He will say to the people on his right: Come, you who are blessed by my Father; for I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
They will then ask him when they did any of these things and Jesus will say anything you do for one of my brothers you do for me.
He will then tell the people on his left to prepare for hell as I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
They will then ask him when they didn’t do these things for him and Jesus will say anything you didn’t do you didn’t do for me.
The people on his left will then go to eternal punishment and the people on his right will go to eternal life.
