The Roman emperor, Augustus, said that a census shoud be taken throughout the Roman Empire. Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem in Judea and he travelled there from Nazareth in Galilee with his fiancé Mary who was pregnant. While they were there Mary gave birth to a son and laid snugly in strips of cloth in a manger because there was no room in the village inn.
That night, a angel appeared to some sheperds in a field outside the village. They were terribly frightened but the angel reassured them. The angel told them about the Messiah and that he would be in a manger. The sheperds then went and found the baby and they told everyone about what had happened and everyone was astonished. Then they went back to their fields praising God.
Give a second account of the birth of Jesus?

Joseph did what the angel had told him in his dream. Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem in Judea during the reign of King Herod. At that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem asking where the new born king was.
Herod was disturbed by this question along with all of Jerusalem. Herod asked the religious teachers and priests where the prophets said the Messiah would be born and they siad Bethlehem. The wise men were then told to come and see Herod who told them to search for the child and come back so he can worship him too.
The three wise men then followed the star which took them to the child. The worshiped him and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Joseph and Mary then escaped to Egypt because God warned them in a dream not to go back to Herod. They then returned back home after and angel appeared to Joseph in a dream to tell them that Herod had died.
State somethings about the Three Wise Men and their visit
They gave gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Gold - represents kingship
Frankincense - represents God
Myrrh - represents death
They were called Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar
They visited Jesus on the 6th of January and this day is called the feast of the Epiphany.
What happened in Jesus Lost in the Temple?
When Jesus was twelve his parents took him to Jerusalem to celebrate Passover (When the Jews escaped from slavery). After the festival his parents were goung home but Jesus stayed behind without his parents knowing. His parents then travelled a day without noticing that he was gone before looking among their relatives and friends. They then went back to Jerusalem and searched for 3 days and then found him in the temple with the Jewish leaders. Everyone was amazed by him understanding and the questions he was asking the leaders. Mary was angry but Jesus said that he had to be in his Father’s house but they didn’t understand that.
What happened with the Temptations of Jesus?
The spirit lead Jesus into the desert to be tempted by the devil. The devil said that if he was God’s son, order some stones to turn into bread. Jesus refused as he saud humans couldn’t live of bread alone. The devil then said if you are the Son of God throw yourself down from the highest point of the Temple as he will have angels to protect him. Jesus then said that you should not put the Lord to the test. The devil then said that he would give him all of the kingdoms of the world if you kneel down and worship him but Jesus said go away Satan as you should only worship God and only God. Then the devil left and Jesus was helped by some angels.
State some things about the Trinity?
There are three persons in the one God: the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit.
They are all equal but not the same.
What happened at Jesus’ Baptism?
One day Jesus asked his cousin John to baptise him. John was reluctant to do it because Jesus was a man without sin. Jesus insited and he was baptised in the Jordan River. Wheb Jesus came up from the water John heard God speaking and the Holy Spirit was also there in the form of a dove.
What happened at the Calling of the Disciples?
As Jesus walked along the shore of Lake Galilee he saw two fishermen Simon and his brother Andrew and he said come with me and they did so. He then saw two other brothers James and John and called them too and they also followed him. He then saw Levi and told him to follow him and he did so.
He called ordinary people earning a living as he saw potential inside of them.
