DUP’s influence on Uk government
- they created a ‘demand and supply’ agreement with Theresa May - where they agreed to join her party and get her enough MPs to form a government (325), and in return, their policies were to be acted upon
UKIP aim:
they wanted the UK to leave the EU
UKIPs greatest achievements:
- they convinced David Cameron to pledge the in-out referendum in 2016
- they also won 12.6% of the popular vote in 2015
what led to UKIPs downfall?
after Brexit was confirmed, the party had lost its purpose and no longer has an impact on UK government

- after Brexit was confirmed, the party had no meaning/ value
- ever since Bojo became prime minister, their party support collapsed because he promoted Brexit (there was no need for a separate party to do it)

a party that is based solely on a current issue, and once that issue has been resolved, the party loses support
- e.g. the Brexit Party and UKIP

SNP policies:
- environmental protection

- redistribution of income from rich to poor

The SNP successes:
- persuading David Cameron to allow a referendum on Scottish Independence in 2014. however, they didn’t win

protect the environment
Green Party policies:
- raise living wage from £8.91 to to £10 an hour
- legalise cannabis
- against nuclear power
- investment in public transport and new homes
- abolish uni fees
