Emphasize the importance of maintaining order and traditional values (often based on religion). Believe in limited government programs/intervention and low taxes. Support government intervention when necessary. Often encourage deregulation of gun and other industries.
Authoritarianism
-Strong centralized government which emphasizes order and limits personal freedoms
-Government control over all branches of government
-Uses authority to suppres opposition
totalitarianism
-State has total control over all social/economic policy decisions and private life
-Totalitarianism usually has a state ideology; citizens are expected to share values/beliefs
