What was the aim of milgrams study?
To investigate to what extent a person will obey even when the orders given goes against there morals
What was milgrams method?
40 male participant volunteers, all the real participants were allocated the role of the teacher and actors were the learners, the teacher had to give an electric shock everytime the learner made a mistake, the experiment continued until the teacher refused or 450 volts were reached, if the teacher wanted to stop the experimenter says ‘the experiment requires you to continue’
What was milgrams results
All participants went to 300volts
65% went to 450 volts
What is agentic state
People allow others to direct their actions then pass off the responsibility for the consequences to the person giving the orders
