What is the background of the study?
The big moral question of the 20th century was the horrors of the Second World War. During the Nazi regime in Germany, the government initiated a policy of extermination of ‘worthless’ ethnic groups.

Sat in an adjacent room with an electric shock generator. Then asked the ‘learner’ a paired word test and gave him an electric shock for every wrong answer.
Describe the electric shock generator?
The machine had 30 switches ranging from 15-450 volts, in 15 volt increments.
What happened at 300v?
The learner pounded on the wall and thereafter made no further replies.
