What should a baby do by 6 months
Keep trunk supported in sitting position, palmar grasp of objects, makes noices with consonants, responds to tone of voice, curious and engaged with people
What should a baby be able to do by 9 months
Sit unsupported, start crawling, bound legs when supported, scissor grip of objects, babbles sounding more like talking and listens to speech, becomes more cautious of strangers
What should an infant be able to do by 12 months
Stand and begin cruising, pincer grip, holds crayon and scribbles, says single words in context, follows very simple instructions, engages with others by pointing and handling objects, waves by claps hands
When should a baby be walking
15 months
When should a baby smile by
6 weeks
What should an infant be doing by 18 months
Squat and pick things up, clumsily bring things to mouth for food, 5-10 words, understands nouns, 1 key word, imitates activities such as using phone
What should an infant be doing by 2 years
Running and kicking a ball, draws vertical line, 2 key words and understands verbs, around 50+ words. Extends interest to others beyong parents, plays next to not with other children
