How to remember gross motor?
start at head and work down 3m = neck holding 6m = prone/ supine and back 9m = crawling 1y = walking 2y = running, up and down TWO steps (2y = 2 steps) 3y = tricycle (TRI = 3) 4y = hops/ jumps 5y = skips

GM: walks independently (walk at one)
FM: casting appears, mouthing disappears
S&L: 2 words with meaning
Social: wave head to no

GM: runs, goes up and down steps with 2 feet

How to remember fine motor?
For cubes: age x 3 (2y = 6 cubes, 3y = 9 cubes)
For shapes: lines have TWO ends (2y), square has FOUR sides (4y), Triangle is most complex (5y)

GM: tricycle, up stairs one foot (tri = 3)
FM: 9 cubes, hand dominance (9 = 3x3)
S&L: name, age, gender (3 things = 3y)
Social: dry by night (by age of 3 = no more pee > dry by day and night)
4 years
GM: hops/ jumps, down stairs one foot (4 sides to a hop scotch)
FM: draws squares and crosses (4 sides = 4y)
S&L: stories and poems
Social: toilet alone
5 years
GM: skips
FM: draws a triangle
S&L: colours
Social: dress & undress (start school @ 5 > need to put on own uniform)
