Media Conventions

Form Convention
A media audience could number as few as one person or as many as billions of people around the world for whom the media messages was constructed.
Audiences
The common use of characters, settings, or themes in a specific type of medium. A genre can be recognized by its common set of distinguishing features.
Genre Convention
This type of audience actively engages and does not simply accept every media message.
Active Audiences
The common narrative structures and
understanding used in storytelling
products which consists of the plot,
characters, conflicts, theme, point of view,
and symbolism.
Story Convention
It is often referred to as broadcast audience.
Mass Audiences
They are a much smaller audience but are very influential.
Niche Audiences
They merely observe an event rather than actively responding to it.
Passive Audiences
is a professional responsible for
coordinating every aspect of creating
entertainment performance.
Producers
are the providers and consumers of products and services in media.
Stakeholders
These consists of the employees or a group who works within the same organization or project.
Internal Stakeholders
These consist of every individual or group outside of a project who can affect or be affected by the
project.
External Stakeholders
This pertains to the output of a person’s
intellectual pursuit such as literary and artistic works, inventions, logos, symbols, and signs, as well as names and images used for commercial
purposes or advertisements.
Intellectual Property
A legal device that gives the creator of an
intellectual property the sole right to publish
and sell that work.
Copyright
Pertains to an exclusive right granted to an invention
Patents
Refers to a specific sign associated with a particular brand of goods or services
Trademark
A secret device or technique used by a
company in manufacturing its product
Trade Secrets
is a legal doctrine that promotes freedom of expression by permitting the unlicensed use of copyright-protected works in certain circumstances.
Fair use
Refers to the use of the copyrighted work to be described and explained.
Commentaries
Refers to the use of the copyrighted material as part of a thumbnail and the ability for the work to be discovered by Search Engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing)
Search Engines
Refers to the use of the copyrighted work in a funny, inoffensive, and joking manner.
Parody
Refers to the analysis and judgement of the copyrighted work. This is used to find the merit and the faults of a piece of media.
Criticism
Refers to the use of the copyrighted work as a source
for research.
Research
Refers to the use of the copyrighted work as a part of a news article, magazine, and report.
News Reporting
Deliberate excluding someone from an online group
Exclusion
is bullying that takes place online, or
using electronic technology such as cellphones, computers, and tablets, and over communication tools which includes social media sites, text messages, chat
rooms, and websites.
