1517 May Day riots led by people who resented foreigners privileges
Range of skills= found work easily setting up own businesses
Some desperately poor took to petty crime. Palatines deported to Ireland to work on land

Cloth trade boosted by Huguenots silk weavers, settled in Spitalfields
Silks and new fabrics such as velvet and taffeta were in demand by rich women and dress designers

Limited impact, increasingly faced difficult experiences from society. Gov began transporting Romani people into slavery in North America from the 1650s onwards
Hanged as punishments for continuing to live as vagrants and beggars

They worked for the wealthy, it was fashionable for rich English people to have a black child servant.
Some black African migrants became quite wealthy or musicians eg John Blanke
