Define doctrine
What the whole Bible teaches us today about some particular topic
Define inspiration
The authors and editors of the Bible were led or influences by God with the result that their writings were the word of God
Define inerrancy
Scripture in the original manuscripts does not affirm anything which is contrary to a fact
What is general revelation?
Knowledge about God discovered through natural means
What is special revelation?
Knowledge about God through supernatural means. Knowing God through salvation.
What is aseity?
God is completely self-sufficient. Contains within Himself the cause of Himself.
What is omniscience?
God fully knows Himself and all things actual and possible in one simple and eternal act.
What is omnipresence?
God does not have size or spatial dimensions and is present at every point of space with His whole being, yet God acts differently in different places.
What is immutability?
God is unchanging in His character, will, and covenant promises.
What is impassability?
God does not have sinful passions or emotions.
What is theophany?
An “appearance of God” in which He takes on a visible form to show Himself to people.
What is holiness?
The attribute of God whereby He is separated from sin and devoted to seeking His own honor
What is love?
When used of God the doctrine of God eternally gives of himself to others
What is mercy?
God’s goodness toward those in misery and distress
What is omnipotence?
The attribute of God whereby He is able to do all His holy will
What is the trinity?
The doctrine that God eternally exists as three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and each person is fully God and there is one God
What is modalism?
The heretical teaching that holds that God is not really three distinct persons but only one person who appears to people in different “modes” at different times. Also called sabellianism.

The doctrine that God created the entire universe out of nothing; it was originally very good; and He created it to glorify Himself.
What is transcendence?
The term used to describe God as being greater than the creation and independent.

Existing or raining in; used in theology to speak of God’s involvement in creation.
