Midterm Examination PPT Flashcards
This test is one of the most common hypothesis tests in statistics.
One Sample T-Test
Is there a difference between a group and the population
One Sample T-Test
Is there a difference between two groups
Independent T-Test
Is there a difference in a group between two points in time
Paired Samples T-Test
In order to perform a one-sample t-test, the following hypotheses are formulated:
- Two-tailed (non-directional)
One-tailed(Directional)
“Null hypothesis” Two-tailed or One-tailed?
The mean value of the population is equal to the specified value.
Two-tailed “Null hypothesis”
“Alternative Hypothesis” Two-tailed or One-tailed
The mean value of the population is not equal to the specified value.
Two-Tailed “Alternative Hypothesis”
“Null hypothesis” Two-tailed or One-tailed?
The mean value of the population is equal to or greater than (or less than) that of the specified value.
**One-tailed ** “Null Hypothesis”
“Alternative Hypothesis” Two-tailed or One-tailed
The mean value of the population is smaller (or larger) than the specified values.
One Tailed “Alternative Hypothesis”
