A

Play is so important because it teaches children about the world around them. It teaches them social skill when they play with other children. Playing with blocks helps with their math skills. Listening to stories and looking at pictures helps with their reading skills. Washing their hands and putting toys away helps with their self-help skills. Playing outside teaches them about nature. Writing their letters helps with their language skills. Problem solving helps with their social skills and self-help skills. Cutting with scissors, writing with a pencil, and coloring helps develop their motor skills. Imaginary play helps with problem solving and it builds their imagination. Seeing if objects stick to a magnet or looking through a microscope at bugs is developing science skills.
