Shin Huangdi
The first emperor of the Qin Dynasty, helped lead the running of legalistic views in China. Made China highly centralized.
Qin Dynasty
One of the more influential Ancient Chinese empires, opened china to legalism (idea inspired by Li Su)
Han Dynasty
Dynasty following the Qin (and the short period of lawlessness the formed at the fall of the Qin). Considered one of the greatest Chinese dynasties of all time. Founded by Liu Bang. Used Confucianism
What are the Five Relationships?
- Father>son
- Husband>wife
- Older brother> younger brother

- friend=friend
Filial piety
A social rule when all other family members are subordinate to the father
Bureaucracy
A group of people who run a government but are not elected
Daioism
An ancient Chinese religion that focuses on the idea of letting things do what they’re gonna do. “Go with the flow” religion
Ancestor Worship
The veneration of ancestors, leaving objects to take to afterlife
Joint family
Close/ “tightly knit” family
Hundred Schools
A great debate (culminated at the end of the Zhou Dynasty) about the nature of human beings, etc
