1) What did Ray Kroc see that Dick and Maurice McDonald didn’t? What were the differences?
Ray Kroc saw that if you bring people in and train them to do it themselves they have more successes. The McDonald brothers believed that direct supervision was the best option to having success.
2) Organizations have two choices if they want to grow. What are they, and what do they mean?
- Change the leadership capacity (empower people from doers to leaders)
- Change the leadership all together (get rid of current management/leadership)

1) What is the analogy of “pocket change,” and how does decision making affect my credibility as a leader?
a. The idea of pocket change is about giving and receiving credibility. When I make a good decision as a leader then I am getting chage in my pocket. When I make a poor decision or go against what my team says or I am not trustworthy – I am getting change taken from me. The “change” is about how much people trust me. When I am making good decisions people are trusting me and when I continually make bad decisions I am not viewed as credible to my teammates.
2) Explain thoroughly why Sampson is a bad illustration of a leader.
a. Sampson was selfish and desired more power. He engaged in a deceitful relationship, and because of this he was distracted from his main job of protecting people.

i. They have to know what is happening/what’s the vision

i. You have to prove you have the ability to get them there
