What is leadership?
Some one who strives for togetherness in christ-like Community, assumes responsibility for their people treat them as they do themselves and tries to be present
Community
A diverse group of people who live life together and are welcoming to all that shares a commonality. A group of people who are vulnerable, who seek to build trust in order to creat a bond where all members participate and who desire to grow in their strengths and weakness.

Humility
A clear view of who God is and therefore who we are

Biblical understanding of submission?
The biblical understanding of leadership calls us to recognize our leader and allow him to lead us.
Understanding of purpose
The biblical understanding of leadership requires us to define our mission as we follow our leader and to renew and refresh our focus when we spend time with him.
Understanding of commitment
The biblical understanding of leadership calls us close to our saviour. It’s from us his loving kindness we love others, we serve them, we lead them to his loving kindness
Understanding of multiplication
A biblical understanding of leadership calls as to teach and lead others so that they may do the same, until Christ returns.
Values
Guiding principles that help declare behaviour, determine how you make decisions. Underpinnings for everything that we do and why we do it
Mission
An answer to why you exist. A definition of your present state or purpose.

Vision
A description of where you are going. Your desired future state, A picture of the future that creates passionate people
Trait emphasis
Puts emphasis on the leader and their gifting. Leadership is often inherited/born to be leaders. A person needs certain traits to be a leader
Ability emphasis
Put emphasis on the capacity of one to lead (that one has ability). Leadership requires knowledge and know how, everyone has the capacity to be a leader, people have the natural ability to lead.
Skills emphasis
Puts emphasis on ones competency - know what needs to be done and how to do it. Having the right skills
Behaviour emphasis
Puts emphasis on what leaders do when in the role. Now they act/observable characteristics. Leadership is about what people do rather than who they are.
Relationship emphasis
Puts emphasis on the communication between leaders and followers. Followers Can influence the leadership process as much as leaders.
Influence process emphasis
Puts emphasis on how leaders can influence individuals to achieve something together. Leadership is about the process of influencing others

Ability and relationship
The Great man theory
You are born with unique traits and abilities to lead. Will do any thing to achieve their goal
The skills theory
Born with traits that develop patterns across different situations. Have to maintain the right skills no mental disorders/smart.
The style theory
Effective leadership with a set of skills rather than personality traits. They are knowledgeable in their role and about the subject, good problem solving skills.
The situational theory
Suggests that no single leadership style is the best way, it depends on the group and task on how you should proceed with what leadership style you should use.
The contingency theory
Effectiveness doesn’t depend on personal ability. Leadership is about analyzing the environment and knowing now to take control of the situation.
Transactional Leadership theory
Less about developing people and more about achieving their goal. Values structure and order. Rely on awards and punishments to achieve their goal
TransformationaI leadership
An approached focused on causing change in individuals and social systems. Charismatic, inspirational.
Leader-member exchange leadership theory
The leader sets out to form unique relationships that either contribute or hinder growth. The leader and members work together and is ner relational
Servant leadership theory
The good is to serve the followers through Leadership. These leaders put the needs d others before their own.
Authentic leadership theory
Focuses on the leadership being genuine and real. They are vulnerable with their members, affirm legitimacy of the leader.
What is emotional intelligence?
The ability to make healthy choices, based on accurately identifying, understanding and managing our own emotions; and the ability to recognize, understand, and influence the emotions of others.

Self-regulation/self-managment
The ability to control or redirect impulses or moods; a propensity to suspend judgment. Think before you act.
Motivation
A passion to work for reasons that go beyond money or status; propensity to purses goals with energy and persistence.
Empathy
The ability to understand the emotional make up of other people; a skill in treating people according to their emotional reactions.
Social skills
Proficiency in managing relationships and building networks; an ability to find Common ground and build rapport.
