Wagon and harness makers and innkeepers.

Fabric scraps from all of their mending.
What were quilts used for?
To keep people warm like blankets and decorative ones for special occasions, like weddings.
What is a quilting bee?
Ladies would get together to sew a quilt. They would get together and socialize. They could also make extra money by selling the quilts.
Did the middle colonists bathe much? Why?
No. They thought their body’s oils protected them from disease.
Where did the diseases come from in the colonies?
They were brought from Europe.
Did the colonists give the diseases they brought from Europe to the Native Americans?
Yes.
What health care options were there for people in the colonies?
They had doctors, surgeons, and apothecaries.

It’s like a drug store or pharmacy.

A Native American “doctor” who helped the colonists learn to use plants as medicine.
