- Somerset was heavily promoted by Paget.

- Dudley, Southampton, and Arundel unite against Somerset, mobilising 2,500 troops.
- Somerset gathers peasant support, but is unsuccessful in mustering an army. He appeals for the help of Lord Russell but does not receive it.
- Somerset moved Edward to Hampton Court, then Windsor Castle. Edward is frustrated.
- The rebel Lords accuse Somerset of kidnap and inciting unrest.
- Somerset surrenders and is arrested.

A
- Arundel and Southampton turn against Dudley. They plan to use his friendship with Somerset to incriminate him.
- Dudley already has the support of Edward and Cramner. Lords St John and Russell also defect to his faction. This creates a Reform majority.
- Due to his control over household administration, Dudley has power over the King, and stations his allies around him.
- Southampton and Arundel are removed from the Council.
- 1552: Somerset executed on fabricated charges.
