microscopy Flashcards
what is different between electron and light microscopes
electrons, as opposed to light, are used to form an image because the electrons have a much smaller wavelength than that of light waves
what did the electron microscope better
the electron microscope was more powerful and therefore allowed us to see smaller sub cellular structures
what is an eyepiece
the part of a microscope that we look through to view specimens
what is the barrel
the barrel is the upper part of the microscope that can be moved up or down to focus the image
what is the turret
the turret is the part of the microscope that is rotated to change the magnification lens in use
what is the lens
the lens increases the magnification of the specimen
