Microcirculation Flashcards
Vaso Vasorum
tiny vessels to supply blood to the tissue of large blood vessels
Tunica Adventiita
Outermost layer of structural college
Tunic Media
Middle layer with an external elastic membrane and smooth muscle membrane
Tunica Intima
Innermost layer with internal elastic membrane, lamina propia (smooth muscle+connective tissue), base membrane, and endothelial cells
Precapillary Sphincters
smooth muscle around capillaries which control blood flow, dilates in respnose to highly metabolic tissue which has increased O2 demand
Thoroughfare Channel
capillaries without precapillary sphincters, pathway direclty from metarterioles to venules
CHP
Capillary Hydrostatic Pressure
- pressure that the capillary blood places on the capillary wall which favors filtration
- inc w/BP, HF
Neg IFP
Negative Interstitial Fluid Pressure
-negative pressure in the interstitium created by sucking of the lympatic system
PCOP
Plasma Colloid Osmotic Pressure
-determined by proteins in the blood (mostly albumin) aka Oncotic pressure, favors reabsorption
IFCOP
Interstitial Fluid Colloid Osmotic Pressure
-colloids in the interstitium which favor filtration into the interstitium
