Probiotics effectiveness

- Probiotics are effective in treating pouchitis, AAD (antibiotic associated diarrhea), C Dif diarrhea, acute (viral) diarrhea, necrotizing enterocolitis, URI
- Mild efficacy in treating atopic dermatitis
- Ulcerative colitis shows conflicting data
- Probiotics should NOT be used in crohns disease (is detrimental)
- Probiotic’s effect on developing immune system is not known, long term safety in children not known
