What are the symptoms of serotonin syndrome?
Cognitive - Agitation, confusion, hallucinations, euphoria
Autonomic - Increased BP, HR, RR, fever arrhythmias, mydriasis
Neuromuscular changes - Tremor, hyper-reflexia, clonus, seizures
What is the mx of serotonin syndrome?
Cease antipsychotic
Supportive - cooling blankets, rehydration, benzos for seizures
Cyproheptadine
What are the sx of NMS?
F- fever
A - Autonomic instability (HR, BP, RR)
R - rigidity of muscles
M - Mental status changes
Bloods show increased serum CK, Leukocytosis, and myoglobinuria in urine
What is the mx of NMS?
Cease antipsychotic and call psychiatry
General supportive care - cooling blankets, fluids, DVT prophylaxis
Medications - Oral BROMOCRIPTINE First line
- Can consider IV dantrolene, can give anticholinergics / benzos for muscle rigidity

L - Leukocytosis
I - Insipidus
T - Tremors
H - Hypothyroidism
I - Increased weight
U - Underactive mind
M - mothers is terratogenic
GIT - N&V
