What is the method of ‘Sieving?’
Sieving is the method of separating:-
A liquid from a solid
Two solids with particles of different sizes
What physical properties help us to make hand sorting easier?
The physical properties of size, shape, colour and texture
How does sieving work?
The liquid or small particles pass through the holes of the sieve, leaving the bigger particles behind
What is the method of ‘Filtration?’
Filtration is the method whereby mixtures with different particle sizes are separated using a filter
What is the difference between a filter and a sieve?
The difference is the size of the holes, because the holes in a filter are to small to see, and you can see the holes in a sieve
What I a filter usually made of?
A filter is usually made from paper, cloth or plastic
