Ecological validity
Whether the measure of behaviour resembles real-life.
Population validity
Whether the sample used in the research is diverse and representative of the population as a whole.
Construct validity
Whether the study is really measuring hat its supposed to be measuring and whether extraneous variables are controlled for.
Demand characteristics
Participants changing their behaviour because they know the aims of the study.
Inter-Rater reliability
Relevant when there are multiple observers who watch the same participant.
Standardised
Are conditions controlled so each participant experiences them the same and the experiment is replicable.
Ethnocentrism
The study only applies to one culture.
Reliable
Is the research kept standardised, could it be replicated and has it been carried out on multiple participants.
