A
Works by reducing the gluconeogensis: prevents ability to take glucose out of storage and increase use of glucose you already have

Typical doses
A
500 mg strength, normally 2 tablets once a day or max dose 1g a day ;2 tablets twice a day)

A
Alcohol- increase risk of lactic acidosis

A
Acute metabolic acidosis

A
GI- diarrhoea, vomiting, abdo pain nausea
