Breakdown of glycogen and involves the enzymes glycogen phosphorylase, debranching enzyme and phosphoglucomutase

Synthesis of glycogen and involves the enzymes UDP-glucose pyrophosphorylase, glycogen synthase, amylo (1-4) to (1-6) transglycosylase (branching enzyme)
