A
Urinary Na > serum Na Urinary Na > 20mmol Euvolaemia Normal TFTs and adrenal function No diuretic use Normal cardiac, hepatic, renal function

Causes of hyponatraemia
A
Hypovolaemia
- excessive loss
- urinary Na < 20mmol extrarenal loss due to sweating, vomiting, diarrhoea, pancreatitis
- urinary Na > 20mmol renal loss thiazides, osmotic diuresis, RTA or CKD
Euvolaemia
- SIADH (diagnosis of exclusion)
- beer potomania
- psychogenic polydipsia
- drugs
- H2O intoxication
Hypervolaemia
- failures
- urinary Na > 20mmol renal failure
- urinary Na < 20mmol cirrhosis, cardiac failure, nephrotic syndrome
