8km from the ARP
8-16km may be given, indicates by the term VC (vicinity)

0200, 1400, and 2000

18 hours
What area does a TAF cover?
8km, but 16km for cloud, from the ARP
When will the varying between (V) symbol be given in a METAR?
When the wind direction varies by 60 degrees or more
When is CAVOK used?
In TREND/TAF for NZAA, NZWN, NZCH
What are the CAVOK conditions?
Visibility 10km or greater
No cloud base below:
• 5000ft AA
• 6500ft WN
• 7000ft CH
No TCU/CBs at any height
No significant weather
What does NCD mean?
No cloud detected below 10,000ft (AA,WN,CH)
At any level for domestic aerodromes

When is a SPECI issued?
Any time there is a significant change to weather
