Clinical presentation of mesenteric ischaemia?
A
Sudden severe abdominal pain and guarding. Patients can have pain out of proportion to the physical examination
Nausea and vomiting
Signs of shock
Metabolic acidosis on ABG.
PR bleeding is occasionally seen in advanced ischaemia

How do you diagnose mesenteric ischaemia?
A
CT angiography of the abdomen.

What is the management for mesenteric ischaemia?
A
Urgent fluid resuscitation
Broad spectrum antibiotics on confirmation of diagnosis
Surgical management includes excision of the necrotic area of bowel and revascularisation of the bowel.
