1) Moderate Decrease - catalepsy
2) Severe Decrease - Stupor
3) Simple Excess - Agitation
4) Complex Excess - Mannerisms and Stereotyping

Negativism: lessened engagement
Mutism: severe lack of engagement (like family on couch staring ahead)

Affect- TIRCA: Type, Intensity, Range, Change pattern, Appropriateness, La Belle Indifference
Intensity: in normal zone or blunted/flat (below normal zone)
Range: Upper/lower limits of peaks/troughs- normal or constricted?
Change Pattern: slope of peaks (fast or slow change). labile = abnormally quick change, over-controlled = too slow.
Appropriateness: Mood congruent vs incongruent (do peaks match intense emotion?)
La Belle Indifference: indifferent to something you should react to like broken arm. Mood incongruence seen in conversion disorder
Perception - Hallucination vs Illusion
Hallucination: any sensory modality, totally made up
Illusion: mistake real thing for something made up
