Behavior therapy

when meladaptive moods and behavior can be changed by replacing negative ways of thinking with positive and healthier ways.
Cognitive behavior therapy
unconscious strategies for avoiding or reducing threataning feelings like fear and anxiety.
Defense mechanisms
a behavior modified technique used to combat phobias and other irrational fears.
Desensitization
the ability to understand how someone feels by putting yourself in their place.
Empathy
feeling pity or sorrow for someone else’s misfortune.
Sympathy
a common term for people who are quiet, reserved, thoughtful, and self-reliant and who tend to prefer solitary work/ activities.
Introversion
excessive preoccupation with self and lack of empathy for others.
Narcissism
The treatment of mental or emotional disorders and adjustment problems through the use of psychological techniques rather than through physical or biological means.
Psychotherapy
an initial expectation that is confirmed by the behavior it elicits.
