What is a neuron?
specialised cell transmitting nerve impulses, nerve cell
What is a synapse?
junction between 2 nerve cells, gap which impulses pass by neurotransmitters
What is a neurotransmitter?
chemical released when a nerve impulse arrives, affects the transfer of an impulse to another structure
What is an axon?
thread-like part, carries impulses from cell body to other cells
What is a dendrite?
extension of nerve cell, impulses transmitted to the cell body
What are 3 neurotransmitters?
serotonin
dopamine
noradrenaline
